At the main page there is a link at the right side bar and another one at the top o the page. If you don't have your user ID and password already, you should go to your members record and request a password. To do that, go to the active members page to find your name on the list. At the top where it says request password, click on the link which will take you to a page where you wll be asked to input a six character long passcode, which is listed at the bottom of the grey box. Input that passcode, then your password will be sent via email. See here for more about emailed passwords.

I have moved FLWGC into a new server, the first move since late 2006. The new server is roomier with more RAM and a better processor, plus a more updated web server, database server, and languages such as php and perl.

Also, improvements in battle reporting such as the ability to register maneuver games, as well as new games such as SPWW2.

Soon to come: I will begin the process of automating the clearing of old current games which have not been finished but which still are as active. The plan is for the system to search every Friday for games which are six months old and list them. The system will then search the logs to see if the player really has been inactive that whole time, or if it is an MP game ( which I understand takes longer than your average game ) and if they and their opponent have been inactive, the system will set the game as ABANDONED and will assess both sides a ten point battle point penalty, as well as set the two player accounts as inactive.

In the case in which one side has been active, the active side will be given 30 days to find the opponent. The email will give the active element some links to click, a few choices. If the opponent doesn't respond, ( and an email link will be there to help mark it )then the game will be marked as ABANDONED and one side, the inactive side, will take the hit. Life goes on.

Other links in the information email are as follows:

1) mark the game as ABANDONED and take the ten point hit.
2) Recast the game, in which the game will be marked as ABANDONED but no penalty to be assessed. In this case both members must register as new game within ten days or take the ten point hit.
3) Continue the game with no penalty. A hidden date field will be set and the system will check for that date in six months. If the game is not resolved by then,then both sides take the ten point hit. Only intervention by the gamemaster will stop the marking as ABANDON of the game.

I have added a game turn notification bit to each players record. You can access it by logging in to your account.

At the moment there are no applications written, but what will be done follows: Any current battle on the newgames list will have a small colored indicator showing which player wishes to be notified when a game turn is ready. It will simply entail an act by one side of clicking a link which will send an email to the player notifying him that a game turn has ended and the file has been sent.

This system will work only if you have an up to date cookie on your browser which will identify you as one element of a particular game who is permitted to inform his opposite a game turn is over and a file has been mailed.

The system will also permit members who have logged in and who have an up to date cookie to see the link to click it. Any non member or member who is inactive or who do not have an up to date cookie on their browser will not be shown the link.

The plan is also to make email addresses visible only to members who have an up to date cookie on their browser. This will prevent web "scraping" programs from harvesting emails

It looks like the Beachhead Mess is on the ropes. It may be a while before I can get a forum of our own installed here, as I prefer to write our own.

I am also rewriting the Club War Room. The latest version is warroom.php.

I still have plans to try to reestablish some sort of democracy with some means of online voting and the like.

I also plan to rewrite some rules concerning how battles are reported, such as making a provision whereby members who have games older than six months ( for example ) must do something to indicate the game is still good, or it will be treated as an abandoned game with a ten point battle point penalty.

Monitor this BB and that page for updates and email me if you have any idea to add or subtract from the club rules.

I am about to decide on a simple way for scoring MP games.

Once a group game has been decided on, each member participating will register the game versus whichever is his opposite commander. In the case of mismatched number of players for a particular game, the opposite member can be one of the placeholders in the members database.

Be sure to indicate that you are registering as a participant or a commander in an MP game and be sure to include the scenario name.

When the game is over, each participant will register the end result and the game will be scored as though just two players were involved.

IOW: if you register a 45 turn game you finish as an MP participant in which you win, you get 48 points plus 3 VPs, as will any number of other participants on the winning side.

Also: who wants to help develop MP scenarios for the Eastern Front with a 400x400map and army sized units? I'll need help with all aspects, OOB, map, scenario parameters, etc...

Happy New Year all!!! i would like to start a Team Game up with either 6 or 8 players, i'd like to play it with the John Tillers Campaign Series vers(1.03 or 1.04)., but it could be done with the Talonsoft vers also. i have a WF scenario dealing with the Normandy landings.but the scenario description is in german,the scenario looks fine i have just looked at the allied side of things...so if there are 3 or 4 axis players out there and 2 or 3 (besides myself) allied players that would like to try it out..e-mail me at jacklar00@shaw.ca also if one axis player would like to take command let me know, if there is an allied player that would like to command allied procedings that would be fine with me..or i could look after things for the allied side. the scenario i have inmind is 70 turns with a complexity of 10 since the Fall Gelb is on hold(unofficial) i thought this might be neat for the New Year i wont put any time restrictions on it ..since any campaign style tournement would take at least a year too play out im thinking.. let me know larry

I am issuing a call for commanders for the Fall Gelb Campaign. I had hoped to have the full web page interface ready for both sides but with the other scripting I have been doing that has not been possible, so I must write these interfaces on the fly. At the moment I need the following army commanders only: Wehrmacht ( German Army ) Belgian Army Royal Netherlands Army British Expeditionary Force French Army

In order to make use of all the facilities the new bulletin board offers you should log in to your users space at least once so you can grab the cookie. The cookie you get from that logging in gives you full access to the bulletin board. You can still post under whatever name you chose if you do not log in. Highly recommended that you do log in, however.
